Animal House: "We think Soulful House never met a large audience, and we want this to change" - Reverend P

For over five years Reverend P and Alex Finkin have been creating a home for Parisian music lovers where genre, social, ethnic and sexual orientations give way to good vibes and an emphasis on the interplay between DJ sets and live acts, throwing back to the heady days of the Paradise Garage and injecting a sense of community back into the post nineties segregation and insularity of the club scene.

The bi-monthly happenings and legendary home of soulful sounds, Djoon have seen an impressive list of acts grace the decks including Ultra Nate, Nicky Siano, David Sabat, Mani Hofman, Dj Hitch, Dj Rork, Dj Kervyn Mark, Dj Go Kyriu, Stimulus (real live show), Yass, Danny Marquez, Nappy G, Benjamin Petit and Etienne Nee. The crew's Motown parties have also seen the likes of Norman Jay, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, and Peter Adarkwah (BBE) throwdown soul classics.

Branching out, Animal House have been making some serious global noise with parties in NY at Club Shelter opening for Timmy Regisford, and at other hotspots like Nublu, Pink Elephant, Saphire Lounge and Louie Vega's Roots at Cielo as guests. And with the organic evolution into releasing their own music two years ago the Animal House label promises to bring some of their unique club vibe into recorded format.

With an approach that seems poised for success Reverend P is pragmatic about the label which at present serves as an outlet purely for the Animal House family's creative output. He says "First we need the label to be very strong. if we put out music of other talents we want it to have a real chance to meet a massive audience, not only traxsource DJs".
