"I see them rejoicing, singing, dancing as they give thanks" says Antionio Ocasio about the inspiration behind the title for After the Rain. Evoking a vision of the Taino Native ancestors on the Island of Puerto Rico - La Boriquena, celebrating their long awaited harvest that came... After the Rain.
With an emphasis on live instrumentation and ethnic vocal adlibs by Ocasio's daughter, Antoinette who was aged just 14 when the track was recorded and forward gazing samba beats anchor this track with respect to the intersections between past, future, materiality and spirituality.
Played from the heart by dedicated and knowledgeable musicians and released on Tribal Winds in September 2009. Already making noise on the international circuit here's what the community has to say:
"Love the violin, classic brazilian guitar and timeless Ocasio production...great to hear new music from Antonio!" - Osunlade
"Interesting mix of violin and samba beats, nice sound!" - Rafael Moares (Nomumbah/Yoruba Records)
"Nice track" - King Britt
