Jazz Refreshed have the pleasure of welcoming one of the UK's most exciting and innovative voices, poet, musician and lecturer Anthony Joseph.

Trinidadian born Anthony has lived in the UK since 1989 and has become well known for his spoken word performances, often accompanied by The Spasm Band. A debut 12" single Spirit Lash(Heavenly Sweetness) was released in November 2006. His debut album with the band, ‘Leggo de Lion' was released by Kindred Spirits in 2007 and Joseph and the band toured internationally in support of the album.

In march Anthony Joseph & the Spasm Band launched the latest LP 'Bird Head Son' @ Cargo and the show was incredible!

The LP features an International heavyweight cast of musicians including guitarist Keziah Jones (Because Music), Missouri born trombonist Joe Bowie (Defunkt) and vibraphonist David Neerman.
